The Sims 4 news summary

Not so "new" right now, but here is a recap of the official announcements from last week:

• A new The Sims 4 patch update has been unleashed. It features playable ghosts, Star Wars outfits and some improvements in gardening. It's available for download completely free.

• Further patches will be released also free of charge, which will include swimming pools (November) and new careers (December).

• Maxoids have been showing off swimming pools in some closed events. 1. Pools are created by picking shapes and dropping them into the world (pretty much like balconies, from what we got).

1. As expected, swimsuits are a new addition to the game.

1. Sims can sit on the edge of the pool and can also pee in there.

1. Like in the previous iterations of The Sims series, sims can drown in a pool if walls are placed around it.

• The Sims 4 will be coming for Mac. Expect more details to be revealed soon.

The Sims 4 live broadcast replay and big announcement

Today, The Sims team held a live broadcast on their Twitch channel. It mainly focussed on clarifying some aspects of managing The Sims 4 neighbourhood and giving some build mode tips. The replay can be seen here:

Also, another live broadcast will be held tomorrow at the same time (8:00PM GMT) which will feature a big announcement for the game. They have been teasing the announcement on twitter with a concept art picture and some screens:

Upcoming 3DS game Fantasy Life shown at last Friday's Nintendo Treehouse

The embargo on the information colected by fansites who attended the latest The Sims Creator's Camp has been lifted today. Also, some gaming sites have been publishing more information and previews about the game. The last set from The Sims 3 Store has been released today

The final set from The Sims 3 Store, appropriately named "Last Venue of Amore" has been released. The set features a rideable gondola as a premium content item. The venue is now available here and currently costs 1700 simpoints.

New trailer and new screen for The Sims 4

A new official screen for The Sims 4 has been shared on twitter. It depicts a bar with some high rise buildings in the background. They're most likely scenery, but it's nevertheless a nice touch.

The Sims 4 Gameplay video analysis

The folks at SimFans.de just made a very detailed analysis of the recently published gameplay video of The Sims 4. It's in german, but it draws attention to some gameplay details that may have been missed. A must watch!
